One thing I don’t think people talk about enough is how hard owning, running and growing a business can be. Sure, we’re our own boss. Yes, we can do whatever we want. Absolutely, we have an incredible amount of freedom and we’re making an impact. But the mental and emotional weight all that entails can be debilitating.
Last month I sent an email about growing pains and a client replied back and said “Was I your muse for this piece?” And to be honest, many of my clients are currently experiencing growing pains. In a lot of ways, it’s a good place to be because it means you’re GROWING. But growth is HARD. It can be grueling. It can feel like a slog. Sometimes it’s hard to see the other side or remember why you’re doing this to begin with.
But what I want you to know is, that slog? That’s the transition. That’s the push. And you are entirely capable of overcming it. It’s proof that your business is THRIVING. That your business is EXPANDING. That your business is READY FOR MORE. It’s just that the old version of your business no longer supports the new version. And that’s what feels hard. That transition.
As I’ve been reflecting on all this, I realized that the work I do IS the hard stuff. The stuff no one really wants to do. The stuff people push off until it becomes absolutely necessary. But the reality is this is the stuff that cannot wait. It’s hard, yes. And maybe it feels overwhelming or too time consuming. But I walk alongside you as a partner in the process every step of the way so you don’t have to do it alone. Because I want you to see that other side. Because I want you to get out of the weeds and reclaim that freedom.
